This is Forty

I turned forty yesterday.

Forty is pretty much exactly like 39 was…

wiping butts and snot

loading and unloading the laundry

doing dishes

loving on my kids

Yes.  Forty is good.

I am in a great place and I am happy with who I am.  There are many things I would like to work on in the next forty years but this weekend I am going to chill out and celebrate a little bit.

Forty and four days will be when I start to make goals.

Have a great weekend.

I started a new “Diet Bet” today with one of my favorite bloggers, Brooke . She has lost a crazy amount of weight (like, 172 lbs!) and is such an inspiration.  I needed something new to get me motivated and back on the diet-train.  I am hoping this will do it.

It’s kind of fun to play along and be a part of something. I did well in the first one I was involved in. I am ready for the challenge.

No stats this week. I am not starting over, but starting fresh!

I feel good.

Irish Blessings

May to road rise too meet you…

May the wind always be at your back…

May the sun shine to warm your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields…

And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from my family to yours!

I don’t have a whole lot if time tonight. The worlds gave collided…Megan has “Tech Week” for the play she is in, soccer started tonight, and work is insane. Other personal things have been more crappy than normal.

Oof, I am exhausted and Monday is not even over.

I am confident in saying I am back on the weight loss wagon.  I had a great week of work outs and even though I didn’t have a big loss I will take it. I started eating lunch in my classroom because teachers are notoriously piggish (myself included) and I am having a hard time avoiding the goodies in the Faculty Room.

Andplusalso, let’s face it, my free time/alone time is limited.

Here are my stats for this week:

Weight loss: -1

Total Pounds Lost: -15.6

Fancy Friday Dinner for the WIN!!

The good news is, I believe the snow and sleet and freezing temperatures are behind us which means my excuses to make it to the gym will be very slim.  Not that I don’t have a million things going on in life, but I have really made a promise to myself that I will make it there.

Going to the gym directly affects how everything else goes in my life.  If I make it there, then my eating is on track and I am generally more optimistic about life in general.  What’s funny about this is the fact that when I go to the gym I have less time at home to get everything else done so I become more efficient which makes my household run more smoothly. Oh and I eat less because, mentally, if I go to the gym I do not want to waste that exercise on eating crappy foods…and, less time to eat.

The bad news is I feel like I have caught some sort of stomach bug and I am not feeling my best today.  I will not let this be an excuse, but full disclosure.  I am actually looking forward to going tonight and sweating a bit.  I am also really looking forward to the STEAM ROOM!!!!!  My guilty pleasure.
So it was what it was…but I have a great outlook for a great week.  I am not beating myself up about what could have been only positive self-talk about what will be.  I have a big birthday coming up in about 2 and a ½ weeks and I am determined to be down a few pounds before that date.  All is not lost…there is still time to be down significantly before the summer begins.  I know I can do it.

Here are my stats for this week:

Weight loss: -0
Total Pounds Lost: -14.6

5 Facts (Tyler)

Tyler has a million little figures…from Ninja Turtles to Batman to Mickey & Friends…it’s all figures all the time. I have a love/hate relationship with said figures….I love them because they give Ty hours of entertainment. I hate then because they are EVERYWHERE.

Tyler says they funniest things. “Hi, Chief.”, “What’s up, Missy?” and Hey, Louise!” Are three of my favorites.

The kid would stay in his pajamas all day everyday if I let him..,and most days I let him.

Tyler is like Jeckle & Hyde; sweet as can be at one moment and a total screaming freak show the next. I kind of love that about him.

Tyler is the best cuddler in the world.  He loves to be held tight until he falls asleep. He also gives THE BEST hugs and kisses. He is my little lovey.

throwing an epic meltdown/tantrum…still cute
